This title track almost didn't happen! While I was working on different tracks for the EP, I was going through my random-lyric-ideas notebook and suddenly what seemed like unrelated hooks decided to fall into place with each other and combine themselves into this song.

The message of the lyrics is pretty clear, and came to me at a time when I wanted to shout it from the rooftops. I don't feel this way every day, but on those darker days it's also the message that I need to hear, and I hope that it will resonate with all the powerful women that inspire me every day to be proud of who I am.

The laid-back groove of the Brooks Prumo Orchestra hits the sweet spot. This is fine swing without any try-hard hype. The studio mix is balanced, and it hops and slides like music should (unlike some other contemporary jazz). "Out of Nowhere" is outstanding: inspired arrangement, knockout playing, genuine emotion. The vocal numbers get better with every listen, and "Blue Lester" has about it a certain sunburn-on-your-skin mint julep nighttime ease. jakespatz
